Greetings! I'm wondering if anyone can point me in the right direction regarding the "stamps/proof/markings" (sorry don't know the correct term) on an old pistol that was found in South Australia during demolition of an old hotel/pub. Mainly because the new (legitimate) owner saw the articles regarding the 'fake' pistol Kate Kelley (sister of Ned) brought with her when she came to South Australia. The piece is in average/poor condition but has alot of visible stamps/markings etc and after reading the news articles it seems to (a non-expert anyway) to have more of, and perhaps the correct markings that the stolen pistol should have had. This is a link to the original story. www.theage.com.au/articles/2007/11/15/1194766868993.htmlI didn't know whether to post any pictures of the markings here, to be honest it's difficult to find a forum that was about Australian historical arms! Thanks for your time, please let me know if there's anywhere you reccommend or whether this is the right place! Cheers, Simon
